Syksy on tunnetusti aikaa, jolloin sataa paljon. Kumisaappaat ja sadetakki tulevat hyvin tutuiksi itsensä tai vastaantulijoiden päältä. Kaikki eivät kuitenkaan käytä sadetakkia, vaan mielummin sateenvarjoa. Se on varsin kätevä tapa suojautua sateelta, mutta sen pahin vihollinen on tuuli.

Tarpeeksi kovan tuulenpuuskan tullessa sateenvarjo kääntyy helposti ympäri ja saattaa mennä kokonaan rikki. Tämä on ongelma, josta kaikki kärsivät joskus. Yleensä tarpeeksi monta kertaa asiasta kärsittyään sateenvarjo vaihtuu sadetakkiin.
